Below you will find some of the most common questions people ask me as well as responses to those questions.
What is a professional organizer?
A Professional Home Organizer is someone that helps you to overcome clutter and disorganization to make your life less stressful and your time more efficient.
Why use a professional organizer?
If you have attempted to get organized only to find yourself in an even bigger mess than when you started, or if it seems like your work is quickly undone after only a short time, a professional organizer CAN help. It’s not simply about “getting organized”. Being organized is not a one-step project but a new way of living. You need the tools and techniques to “live organized”. A professional organizer will help you develop systems and skills to change your life for the better. They are there to sit, sort, clean, file, de-clutter, and de-stress to help make your home a better place to live
In addition, while there are amazing products on the market to help you organize your space, organization is not a one-size-fits-all idea. Choosing the right products and systems takes expertise. Rather than wasting time and money trying to fit into a prepackaged system, a professional organizer can help you identify what products and techniques will work for you in your busy lifestyle.
Why should I spend time and money just to get organized?
The impact getting organized will have on your life will amaze you. The benefits of being able to find what you’re looking for when you need it, knowing where to put if when it’s time to clean up, and being able to tell someone else where to find it are enormous. You avoid frustration and save time and money when you have systems that work for you and your family. Imagine entering your home after a long day and feeling relaxed and in control, knowing you have the tools to maintain your well organized space!
What will the final outcome look like?
The right system depends on you and your lifestyle. If you are hoping the end result looks like a picture from a magazine, we can do that. In fact, I love making organized pretty. Although I will say that it can take more time and products, and possible professional installations. If you are looking for simple solutions using what you already have I can do that too! Or, anywhere in between! You decide what you want and what your budget will allow. I will help you make it work.
Do I need to be involved in the process or can you do it for me?
Your level of involvement is entirely up to you. I prefer to work with clients one on one throughout the process so that I may transfer invaluable knowledge that will keep you organized long after I am gone. Although, if you are looking for someone who can set up systems that are easy to understand and apply without having to be there, I can do that too!
Will you want me to get rid of all of my stuff?
No. You decide what you keep, and what can go. I will take you through a sorting process to make it easier for you to identify exactly what you do have. Many things can get lost in the clutter. Some of the items we find you may no longer need. Anything else, we will find a home for during the organizing process to ensure it won’t get lost again!
Will my sessions be confidential?
Absolutely. As a member of NAPO, I adhere to a strict code of ethics and will always protect my clients’ privacy and confidentiality.
How do I get started?
Contact me today! Please DO NOT straighten, or clean up in any way. I will not judge you!!. This is why you called. I need to see what you are dealing with to fully understand what areas to focus on. For example, if the surface of your table is always covered in stuff, I’ll know we need to create a system or place for those items.
What if I only need you for a few hours?
That’s okay! There is a three hour minimum for each working session.
When do I pay?
Payment is due and the end of each session. I accept cash, checks, and credit cards.
Contact me to set up an appointment so I can help you become more organized.
